The built-in support for RS-232Cand IrDA lets you control the printer through a wired connection and optional interface likes Bluetooth and 802.11b Wireless LAN enable wireless printing with mobile wireless devices such as PDAs or handy terminals. The new MBi printers are part of the “Compact” family comprising light, mobile printers that are easy to operate. The new MBi’s outer construction is made of polycarbonate, and also incorporates a shock-absorbing mechanism to withstand heavy impact for added durability. With its smooth edged and modular design, it is intended to fit snugly in the hands of operators. Bluetooth and Wireless LAN connectivity are also available on this series as optional factory fitted interface modules. In addition, the wireless LAN module in the MBi family is compliant with Wireless IEEE802.11b standard.

MBi series employ a high speed 32-bit CPU for high throughput printing speeds of up to 103mm per second, they actually consume very little power: the sophisticated mobile processor onboard automatically reduces power consumption by shutting down any unneeded or idle on-chip circuitry. Operation time per battery charge is thus significantly enhanced.

The new MBi series from SATO are intelligent, durable and are perfect for many different applications. It is ideal for POS labelling where it allows the operator to input information from a PDA or handy terminal, and then send data for printing to the printer in real time as opposed to having pre-printed labels.

Additional features include a maximum print speed of 4inch/sec and maximum printing length of 50inches (without any memory expansion). This new CX 400 also offers a flexible interface module - RS-232C and Centronics interface as a standard and optional interface modules include Ethernet (10/100Base T), 100Base-TX LAN adapter (via the parallel port) and USB adapter.
