SATO Thailand achieves ISO 9001:2000 certification
Singapore, 7 January, 2009 – SATO, a pioneer in the Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC) industry and a leader in barcode printing, labelling, and EPC/RFID solutions, announced that SATO Thailand has achieved ISO9001:2000 certification, the international standard for quality management systems. The audit was conducted by TUV NORD (Thailand).
Susumu Tasai, General Manager of SATO Thailand said, “The ISO9001 certification has a two-pronged significance for us. For our customers, this will give them added confidence in the quality and reliability of our products and solutions. For SATO Thailand, the systems, processes and benchmarks implemented will ensure that we always maintain high standards.” Amongst the certification audit areas of the company’s quality systems were the production of seals, labels and tags, delivery logistics, customer service and training.
SATO Thailand expects the ISO9001 certification to lead to improved efficiency and competitiveness, as well as to open up new market opportunities in Thailand. SATO products and solutions can be found across industries as diverse as retail, manufacturing, logistics and transportation, healthcare, primary industry, hospitality and commercial services, and government.
SATO Thailand is the latest company within SATO International to receive ISO9001 certification, joining other group companies in Japan, Malaysia, Poland, Singapore, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Vietnam. “ISO certification is part of SATO’s ongoing commitment to consistently deliver high standards of innovative, precise, cost and resource efficient solutions which fulfil the individual needs of customer workplaces and environments.
